BMO AND LEARNING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE HOST THE 10TH ANNUAL STATE OF EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GALA
On Tuesday, November 15th, 2011, BMO Financial Group hosted Learning for a Sustainable Future’s 10th Annual State of Education for Sustainable Development Gala at First Canadian Place. Business and community leaders joined together to learn how Canada is responding to the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, and the role Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF) is playing in leading this important work in Canada.
DAVID BELL, Chair of LSF, spoke about how over the past two decades LSF has advanced education for sustainable development by informing policy, developing excellent programs, supporting teachers, and by empowering youth.
CITY COUNCILLOR MIKE LAYTON presents the first Jack Layton Award for Youth Action in Sustainability to Ms. Crawford and her students from Edenbrook Elementary School in Bramtpon, Ontario.
ROSE REISMAN, Art of Living Well, spoke about eating well in and outside the home, and how this contributes to health and wellbeing.
