ESD Theme Document: Energy and its Use
The Canadian Sustainability Curriculum Review Initiative is a project of Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF) that focuses on key themes supporting the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014). Each theme identifies what learning research indicates are suitable for children to address at various stages in their development.
These theme documents are intended primarily as resources to support curriculum policy change but are also of relevance to teacher professional development and the design of learning resources and learning programs. The intent of this work is to help bridge research, policy and practice.
Broadening the scope of educating on energy to ensure that students are able to grasp the implications of energy use as it pertains to the economy, the environment, and societies.
