Welcome to LSF’s Youth Forum, designed to ENGAGE your students in local sustainability and civic issues, EQUIP them with knowledge and skills needed to make change, and EMPOWER them to take action.

Teacher Sessions & Resources

  • Feb 15 @ 3:15pm AST: PL Session
    • Learn how all of this will work! Dig deeper into teaching with the SDGs and Action Projects
  • LSF Teacher PL Package full of strategies, tools & resources for engaging your students in sustainability learning & Action Projects

To Get Started

  • Wed, Mar 15 @ 1:30pm – Youth Forum Kickoff with LSF & Keynote Speaker Quinn MacAskill, a high school student from Sackville who already has years of civic engagement and leadership under her belt! 

Student Workshops* 

1-2 per week • 45 minutes each • via MS Teams

  • Workshops will connect to the course outcomes:
    • Investigating civic engagement
    • Exploring what it means to belong
    • Exploring decision-making & representation
    • Analyzing how human rights are established & upheld

  • Week of Apr 17 – Action Project Planning Workshop by LSF

The Youth Forum events are 100% virtual, so you can participate no matter what your class looks like this year! Whether you're in the classroom, teaching virtually, or a mix of both, we've got you covered.

We know this year may be a bit unpredictable, but our Youth Forum events should be flexible enough to account for any learning situation you find yourself in! We're happy to help if you foresee any technical problems.
