The Susan Langley Earth Steward Teaching Award

The Susan Langley Earth Steward Teaching award has been established in partnership with the Ontario Teachers’ Federation to honour the late Susan Langley, previous chair of LSF’s Board of Directors. This award will continue Susan’s important legacy in “empowering our children to change the world”.

Nomination Criteria

Nominate yourself or another educator that you believe is making an exemplary contribution to sustainability education considering the following selection criteria: 

● How does the nominee inspire passion for a more sustainable future, building students’ sustainability knowledge, skills, values and perspectives, motivating them to take action, and helping them become responsible local and global citizens?

● What innovative approaches does the nominee use to create exciting and engaging learning opportunities to motivate their students to address sustainability learning?
 
● How does the nominee serve as a role model and mentor to inspire students and colleagues to be school and community sustainability leaders?
 
● How does the nominee engage with colleagues, students, parents and community members in the classroom and in extracurricular activities in support of a more sustainable future?
 
● How does the nominee imbed Indigenous ways of knowing into their teaching?
